“Science is the only means leading to the possible good of mankind.” Ch.S. Ledentsov

Yesterday an international online meeting took place, which is dedicated to the revival of the Society for Promoting the Success of Experimental Sciences and Their Practical Applications named after Christopher Semenovich Ledentsov. The meeting brought together participants from three cities: Moscow, Berlin and Amsterdam 💻

This year marks the 115th anniversary of the foundation of the Ch.S. Ledentsov Society. The Society supported projects all over the world. Anything that was consistent with the goal of bringing maximum help to the majority of humanity with minimum capital outlay could be supported. Regardless of the candidate’s gender, age, nationality or degree. The Charter/Will directly envisioned that the Society’s Council would approach Russian and foreign universities to seek such projects.

Essentially, Ledentsov made an economic discovery that was ahead of its time. The endeavors of Khristofor Semyonovich were warmly supported by leading scientists, writers, and public figures.

The spiritual basis of the Society was the motto proposed by Ch.S. Ledentsov: “Science. Labor. Love. Prosperity.”

The process of revival the Society is not easy and requires significant efforts.

This was precisely what became the main topic of discussion. Nikolai Ledentsov, the great-grandson of Christopher Ledentsov, a physicist and corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, from Berlin, took part in the discussion. He was joined by the director of the “Christopher Ledentsov Prize” Lyudmila Lindblad from Moscow, Alexander Cherkesov and Yulia Belova, heads of the engineering bureau “Dialar Navigator B.V.”, from Amsterdam.

At the meeting the first possible steps to revive the Society were discussed. We identified one of the main tasks: the study of archival documents stored in the Central State Archives of Moscow.

The fact is that all documents that relate to the Society are in paper form and have not yet been digitized and studied in detail!

And then we will think about how to revive the Society for the benefit of people.

We will definitely share with you our successes in this area 🤗
